Can you kiss your elbow?

Annabel Tippens can. And she's been told that means she's a fairy. Is she?

This was one of my favorite books as a kid, purchased through one of those Scholastic or Weekly Reader flyers. When my daughter got old enough for it, I dug up a copy, thrilled it was still in print. She loved it too, going around for a while trying to kiss her elbow. The story is timeless and whenever we visit an antique store (or, more often, flea market), we keep a lookout for the cat.

I think this would be a great book for a reluctant reader up through probably third grade or even older.

Timeless and Lovely

I have a long history with this book. Back in 1984, when I was 8 years old, my sweet 2nd grade teacher read her first edition copy to our class. I fell in love with the book. I eagerly went to our library to check it out but could not find it anywhere. Back then Amazon did not exist so I was limited to second hand bookstores and garage sales. To an 8 year old child with a book obsession this did not do. Suffice it to say, I stole the book from my teacher (sorry Mrs. Meyer!) and although I read it again on my own, I forever felt guilty every time I looked at that book. I eventually loaned it permanently to someone in my 5th grade class. I never forgot the book however, and stumbled across it in a thrift store as a young adult. I lovingly reread it and then read it to all of my children as they came to the right age. My oldest son especially adored it and even recreated the golden cat for a project in school. I cannot stress what a wonderful little gem this is. The language is beautiful and not dumbed down. It offers something to young children no longer found in kids' books. It is magical and fantastical. While I do feel slight nauseousness every time I see the original cover of the one I found in the thrift store, harkening me back to my thieving moment, I love that this fresh update and cheap price means it can be loved all over again by other children. Buy it for your child and read it aloud together. You will not regret it.

I loved it in elementary school and I still love it!

My daughter and I recently read this book together. I remember checking it out from the library at least twice when I was a little girl and wishing that I could be a fairy too. This is a fantastic story for little girls. My daughter is 8 years old and was totally engrossed in the story. She could read it herself but we really enjoyed reading it together. It is a lovely story about friendship, family, and fantasy.

About the Author
Bruce Mitchell is Fellow Emeritus of St. Edmund Hall, Oxford. His books include A Guide to Old English written with Fred C. Robinson (fifth edition, 1992), On Old English (1988), and the two volume Old English Syntax (1985). He is currently working with Fred C. Robinson on a new edition of Beowulf.

Who's Afraid of Beowulf?

If you're fascinated by English literature and language in general, as I was, but intimidated by the obscure vocabulary and inflections of "Old Anguish," this is your book. It's not a "for Dummies" manual, but it's more reader-friendly than a college text. It introduces all the fundamentals of the language, along with an overview of the culture that produced the tongue. It overlaps the more formal text, "Guide to Old English" (by Mitchell & Robinson) in some places word for word, but "Invitation" is much more chatty and fun. Mitchell's love for Old English is infectious, as is his conviction that it's not as hard to learn as it looks. By the time I was finished, I had a good beginner's command of Old English and a thirst to learn more.

An outstanding book.

As a student of various languages, but a newcomer to the study of Old English, I found this book an unintimidating but, nevertheless, comprehensive and in-depth introduction to the language. Mr. Mitchell begins by tracing the origins of our erstwhile obscure tongue, which has attained the status of a latter-day Latin in terms of its widespread use by native and non-native speakers alike in numerous environments. Unfortunately, many or most native speakers of English have little or no knowledge of the language in its earlier forms. I would recommend this book to anyone wishing to enrich his own knowledge of the language through the study of its roots. It is a study not only of language, but history as well, a point which Mr. Mitchell highlights in such a way as to make this "dead" language come alive. The author grabs the attention of the reader from the first page, more than I thought possible in a didactic book which, of necessity, must teach the rudimentary elements of grammar, and manages to keep it even through the introduction of paradigms. This is in part due to his success in introducing these paradigms in the context of the language in use, as opposed to in uninterrupted pages of dry, grammatical tables which I have found in many other books. Already in the foreword, Mr. Mitchell has begun to give the reader a feel for the language by quoting simple passages and providing literal translations for them. An excellent introduction, and invitation, to a fascinating language, foreign and yet strangely familiar.

A really interesting book!

It's been hard work, but I've put in some elbow grease and made it.
A very readable introduction to Old English language, culture, art, and society. Nearly every aspect of Anglo-Saxon life is touched on, supported with carefully cited sources (usually primary), and a good selection of illustrations. The author's sincere passion for Old English always comes through, and he's very good about encouraging the student. When things are going to be a little hard, you're warned that you've got to just slog through it, and you are guided down the path.
Another nice thing about this book that should be pointed out is that it has a lot to offer people who aren't especially interested in learning Old English, but instead more engaged by the culture and life of the Anglo-Saxon people. Mitchell's expositions are fascinating and feature copious examples from both academic literature and primary sources. You don't need to know a lick of Old English to learn a lot from this book!
I would have appreciated a few touches, however. My primary complaint is that the translations often weren't literal enough. While this made them readable, I had to very frequently second-guess the translations while trying my hand at my own, and would have liked more chances to test my work directly to be sure I was on track. I'm not convinced that, especially in the discussions of language directly, I wouldn't have had an easier time with klutzier and more literal examples.
I'd also like to see all-color plates, in a future edition.
All said and done, this was an immensly satisfying process-- I'm not adept at Old English (one never learns a language all at once anyway, and let's face it: how on Earth do you get any practice if you're not in school? Nevermind what the Masters at Oxford do deciding just /how/ to inflect a long-dead tongue), but with every increase in comprehension I felt my understanding of both modern English and German considerably enhanced.
Above all, this was for me-- for now a hobbyist-- exactly the thing I wanted for some self-study. It might be that for you, too. I assure you that the first time you get a snip from Beowulf just right, it will put a big smile in your heart.

EDWIN ROXBURGH is a composer, conductor and oboist and visiting tutor and researcher at the BCU Birmingham Conservatoire. Recordings of hismusic are on NMC, Naxos, Warehouse, Oboe Classics and Metier labels, and his music is published by United Music Publishing, Ricordi and Maecenas. As a conductor he has premiered a vast number of works, originally with the Twentieth Century Ensemble of London, which he founded, and later with several of the principle orchestras of the UK.

Hi! Just so you know,�my books and poems are either nice--or naughty.�My nice books are histories of the truly amazing Great Plains, including the Orphan Trains and county seat wars.�Sex rears its head in my naughty works.�Plus I think I should tell you that I'm a personal writer. I don't write much that doesn't have an intimate feeling to it, that isn't centered, in some way, on my history. My life began in Alma, a tiny town in south central Nebraska, where I was born and raised. As I lay in bed, listening to my mother read me to sleep,�I fell in love with words. Mom read oodles of books to me. My favorite was "The Farm Twins" by Lucy Fitch Perkins. When I turned eleven years old, I decided to be a writer.

At twenty-one, I graduated from the�University of Nebraska with a journalism degree.�Then I read Jack Kerouac's "On the Road." Struck with the travel bug, I set out, saw Denver, New Orleans, San Diego, Portland, and New York.�I lived in New York City for thirty years,�where I taught writing at Pratt Institute, and earned a degree in creative writing from Brooklyn College.�

Now I'm back in Nebraska, located in Omaha. I'm a retired professor doing what I love best: writing full time. Marcella...Oh, dear Marcella!

Almost from the outset, Marilyn Coffey's MARCELLA put me in mind of Carson McCullers's MEMBER OF THE WEDDING. In that novel, McCullers's principal character, Frankie Addams, is roughly the same age as Marcella and wrestles with many of the same demons. And although both stories are sadly revelatory of the inner contortions a girl must pass through on her way out of childhood and into adolescence, this is where the similarities end.

Coffey's character (the eponymous Marcella) is more explicitly drawn--perhaps indicative of the age in which we live and of what a writer can now permit herself to express in print. I should perhaps mention, however, that what I've just read is the 40th Anniversary Edition. Given that Marcella first appeared in 1973, I'd venture to say that Coffey was way ahead of her time.

The backdrop of Marcella Colby's story--her younger sister, Lucille, her parents, her home life in general--suggests a sterile field in which anguish and obsession would inevitably take root and flourish. While a sympathetic reader might wish for a mother (the father almost doesn't bear mention--and so, Coffey gives him short shrift) whose same gender, at least, would render her a willing partner in Marcella's awkward passage through early adolescence, all we get is a wooden prop, a virtual cipher. Marcella's mother is, in short, deadwood -- and Marcella is consequently set adrift to find her own emotional moorings.

At the prompting of a school acquaintance, Marcella happens to wander into a church. Not just any church, mind you, but an Evangelical church. Her epiphany -- this day and this place in which she is "saved" by a certain Brother Morgan and his retinue -- only serves to contort her mind further and to make her entirely beholden to an all-seeing, all-knowing God. It is, moreover, Marcella's now fervent belief in this omniscient and omnipresent Being that drives her, by degrees, deeper and deeper down into a cauldron of shame for what she feels is a blasphemy of the most heinous and despicable sort: the discovery, through masturbation, that she is a sentient being. Unfortunately, however, and in the absence of someone to tell her differently, she can conceive of her masturbation only as a "filthy, perverted habit" (p. 192).

Enter Brother Morgan (aka "Big Jim") once again--but now as what Marcella perceives to be an almost heaven-sent guide, protector and trustworthy confidant. Their communication opens in letters that Marcella is only too happy to write--frequently, imploringly, keeping almost lockstep pace with her autoerotic sessions--and leads to an invitation to spend a couple of weeks far from home at a camp for young Christians. Brother Morgan indeed delivers. But what he delivers in the form of temporary relief and happiness is something those more world-weary readers among us will likely find suspect from the get-go. I, for one, wasn't in the least surprised when, on the occasion of a one-night sleep-away at the conclusion of Marcella's two-week stay at "Big Jim's" camp in Colorado, the absence of his wife, May, and the absence of a sleeping bag for Marcella quite predictably led to Brother Morgan's laying on of hands (please excuse the obvious double entendre).

Marcella returns home the next day--not precisely deflowered, but spiritually and emotionally debauched.

Is MARCELLA in any sense a didactic story? Is this novel a Bildungsroman of the sort that was once so popular in German literature? Only in the sense that we, as readers, can feel the anguish of Marcella and wish -- as she does at one point late in the story -- that it might somehow be possible to turn the clock backwards. Turn it backwards--or force it to jump ahead to a point where Marcella will no longer be demonized by her own fingers and tormented by the knowledge that she may be less than "a perfect Christian" (p. 191).

I'll now resist the temptation to describe the final chapters of Marilyn Coffey's novel. Better you should read it for yourself to discover Marcella's fate. What I will say by way of conclusion, however, is that the forty years of social progress we've enjoyed since this novel's first appearance made much of it feel almost medieval in its depiction of character and event. Let's hope that by the time the 80th Anniversary Edition appears, some of those same characters and events will feel positively pre-historical.

I have loved everything this author has put out, but this series is my favorite by far. I have been counting down the days for the release and it did not disappoint. Just the right mixture of mystery, romance, and adventure.

I really enjoy this series. The writer is excellent at making you really care about these characters. There is little to no romance but what there is adds to the storyline. With each book I am more curious about our main characters back stories and their abilities. It's another series that just keeps getting better and better.

This series just gets better and better! I absolutely love this series. I love the setting, the time base, and slow story of Lincoln and Charlie. Usually in a series I get fairly bored with the same characters by the fourth book but the peace is great and totally keeps me enthralled. Thanks for the wonderful adventure C J.

A gorgeous book, full of healthy recipes with easy-to-find ingredients

I only just recently discovered Sarah Britton and her My New Roots blog when I came across her recipe for Deluxe Butternut Macaroni ‘n’ Tease. After making that recipe (which was amazing!), I had to pre-order this book -- and am so glad I did!

In keeping with the book's subtitle, the recipes are organized by season. (She actually divides them up into five seasons, splitting summer into early and late.) At the beginning of each main section, there is a small Table of Contents that shows the recipes for that season -- broken down by Mornings, Small Measures, Mains, and Sweets. I only wish that a larger Table of Contents had been provided at the front of the book since I've found that it's harder for me to locate recipes -- and the index for this book is a bit briefer than I'd like -- when they're not all laid out up front in the main TOC.

Some standout features of this book are:

* Gorgeous full-color and full-page photos of every single recipe

* High-quality hardback binding that lays flat when you place the cookbook on the counter or prop it up; the hardback binding probably brought up the cost of this book, but it gives it an art-book-quality feel

* All of the recipes are vegetarian, and I'd say that well over 90% are vegan; the non-vegan ingredients used are eggs, cheese, and bee pollen; coconut oil can be subbed for ghee (butter) in many of the recipes, too

* Many are also gluten-free

* Each recipe also contains a symbol that lets you know at a glance if it's vegan, gluten-free, requires loads of advanced planning, or requires eight hours or more to set

* As mentioned in my review title, the recipes use easy-to-find ingredients

* It includes the recipe for her Life-Changing Loaf of Bread (LCLOB)

Also, I noticed on Sarah's blog today that she listed two misprints to be mindful of: "I would like to take this time to acknowledge the couple of misprints in the book. During the editing process the following mistakes were made: on page 21, the ghee recipe is labeled vegan. On page 241-242 buckwheat and spelt switched places so that buckwheat is in the gluten-containing section of the grains chapter, while spelt is in the gluten-free section."

Since I was off work today, I already made two of the recipes, the Raspberry Macadamia Thumbprint Cookies and Pecan Crunch (kind of like a granola). (I always love it when a new cookbook arrives and I already have some ingredients on hand to try out a few things!) Both recipes came together quickly and easily, and were delicious! Tonight I'll be making the Dark Chocolate Cherry Overnight Oats for breakfast tomorrow.

I can already tell that this book will be a favorite of mine and will get good use! If you're looking for healthy, plant-based recipes, I'd highly recommend this book!

Probably intended for a more adventurous cook

I recently won a copy of this book in a giveaway (not by the publisher), and I was excited to receive it. Looking at it, however, I'm beginning to think that I wouldn't have purchased it for myself, even though I'm always on the lookout for new vegetarian recipes. I don't think this cookbook is really intended for a cook like me. But, I'll explain why and you can decide for yourself how applicable my opinion is.

I rarely buy cookbooks online – mostly because it's so impossible to tell what it is you're going to get; a promising title might yield nothing appetizing. For example, because of the title, you may have been under the impression that this book focuses on root vegetables. (Not really, FYI.) So, in an effort to help you decide whether this book has food you're interested in making, I'm listing the recipes. (Just so you know, I'm shortening/paraphrasing some of the recipe titles, some of which got pretty long. I tried to capture the essential character of the recipe, but it's not word for word.)

The book is divided into five sections: spring, early summer, late summer, autumn, and winter. I thought that was particularly clever of the author; a plant-based cookbook is going to be very seasonal, but I haven't run across any other arranged in such a manner. Within each section, the recipes are grouped into four categories: “mornings,” “small measures,” “mains,” and “sweets.” Here they are:

SPRING (20 recipes) – (Mornings) Strawberry coconut milkshake, Carrot rhubarb muffins, Freekeh pancakes, Strawberry chia jam, Dark chocolate cherry oats; (Small measures) Olive caraway bread, Cabbage wraps with couscous, Pickled turnips, Turnip and radish salad, Savory spring hand pies, Dandelion greens with poached radishes; (Mains) Oyster mushroom bisque, Quinoa risotto, Black lentil salad, Wild rice with pistachios and vegetables, Socca with asparagus/dill/feta; and (Sweets) Macaroons, Apricot rhubarb clafoutis, Strawberry chamomile frozen yogurt, Sunflower sesame brittle.

EARLY SUMMER (18 recipes) – (Mornings) Rooibos ginger tea, Carrot cake porridge, Tempeh mushroom breakfast bowl, Breakfast bars; (Small measures) Sorrel hummus, Labneh with rose petals, Carrot top and garlic scape pesto, Grilled zucchini and green onions, Ginger ale; (Mains) Onion/olive/kale calzones, Arugula salad, Polenta with fennel, Thai coconut soup with zucchini noodles, Fava and pea soup; and (Sweets) Mint chip ice cream sandwiches, Blondies, Raspberry macadamia cookies, Pina colada popsicles.

LATE SUMMER (21 recipes) – (Mornings) Raspberry smoothie, Cashew yogurt, Cornmeal pancakes, Blueberry cardamom chia pudding; (Small measures) Melonade, Grape salsa, Zucchini cornbread, Red pepper walnut dip, Tomatoes with olives and bread, Carrot and corn salad, Lentil salad; (Mains) Coconut bacon lettuce tomato sandwich, Cucumber nigella spelt salad, Glazed eggplant, Hemp tabbouleh, Buchwheat crepes with purple string bean slaw; (Sweets) Blueberry lemon anise cantuccini, Berry volcano cake, Key lime coconut tarts, Grilled peaches, Ice cream

AUTUMN (20 recipes) – (Mornings) Vanilla rose apple cider, Smoothie bowl, Hazelnut flatbreads, Spinach/bacon/egg salad, Fig/buckwheat tart; (Small measures) Onion lentil soup, Cashew cheese, Celeriac salad, Pan bagnat, Roasted squash; (Mains) White bean fondue, Cauliflower with lentils and kaniwa, Forest floor flatbread, Chocolate chili, Roasted pumpkin; (Sweets) Pear/apple/blackberry crumble, Upside-down plum cake, Walnut fig bars, Chocolate night sky, Banoffee pie.

WINTER (19 recipes) – (Mornings) Chaga tea, Chaga hot chocolate, Banana bread granola, Roasted grapefruit, Breakfast tacos, Cranberry carrot loaf; (Small measures) Fennel/grapefruit/cabbage/avocado salad, Beets with orange/pine nuts, Glazed roasted parsnips, Tie-dye soup; (Mains) Lentil soup, Butternut stacks with pesto/kasha/butter beans, Leek scallops and mushrooms, Kale sushi rolls; (Sweets) Eggnog milkshake, Pecan/cranberry pie, Poached pears, Chocolate chip cookies, Orange chocolate cake.

The primary reason I'm only giving this book three stars is because of the sorts of recipes in it – they stray a bit too far toward the exotic for me. I have to think a cookbook author has it rough. Keep too close to the basics, and your cookbook won't have anything new in it and people won't like it...but get too creative, and you end up with complicated recipes using funky ingredients that are more trouble than they're worth, and people won't like it.

Now, I should clarify what I mean by “too exotic.” I'm all for interesting new foods, and new flavor combinations, and new eating experiences. However, I live in a fairly small city that doesn't have a specialty grocery. To give you an idea of what I have to work with: the “international market” is a three foot section of shelving at the local grocery store...that's mostly full of taco shells and soy sauce. Glancing through the book, I see recipes calling for pea shoots, and food grade rose petals, and celeriac...I cannot make these recipes. Now, I don't want to give the impression that all of the recipes call for hard to find ingredients, because that's not true at all. And if you live in a place that has a more robust produce selection than I do, then there won't be any problem at all. (Other than the fact that I'm brimming with envy.) And some of the funky ingredients are shelf-stable things that can be ordered online...though I'm always a bit hesitant to buy something that I'm only going to use a tablespoon of.

But that's probably secondary to my next point, which is: I am a lazy cook. I work hard, my time is precious to me, and I'm only cooking for myself. This means that I don't need recipes that are fancy or impressive. I need recipes that I can make with a fair amount of certainty that they're going to be satisfying. I need recipes that are quick to execute and that don't get every dish in the cupboard dirty. Now, again, I don't want to give you the impression that the recipes are unusually complex. It's just...the focus of the book seems to be skewed toward creativity, toward stuff I wouldn't have necessarily thought to try on my own, and that's a wonderful thing. But when you get right down to it, we all know I'm going to get home from work, look at the beautiful photos accompanying the inspired recipe of my choice, sigh wistfully because it looks so wonderful, and make a cheese sandwich.

I'm disappointed by the number of beverage recipes, although I'm happy to be disagreed with. I don't want a recipe for tea, no matter how unusual the flavor combinations. I also wish the cookbook had provided nutritional information on its recipes, although there are notations for vegan, gluten free, etc. recipes, which could be helpful for some.

However, I have learned that one of my talents is gauging how well I'll like a recipe just from reading it, and some of these sound excellent. I have wild rice soaking as I type for the wild rice and pistachio salad.

I do feel like I ought to praise the look and feel of the book. It's printed on a beautiful heavy, matte paper, and contains some amazing photos.

Anyway, the TL;DR version of all this is that if a cookbook is going to get five stars from me, it needs to call primarily for ingredients that I have ready access to, and it needs to wow me with the easy ways of preparing and combining those ingredients for a consistently tasty result. And I'll tell you the truth: that's hard to find. I know I'm not an easy customer to please. But, that's why I probably wouldn't have bought this book for myself. If, on the other hand, you're looking for some daring new vegetarian food combinations, or if you've got access to some unusual foods and just never knew what to do with them, then this book might be right up your alley.

Review of series

This is s review of all 3 books. I'm unsure where book 1 ends or the others begin, so stay with me in my over exaggeration of dialogue

This series was very good. It had so much suspense and drama, but it truly doesn't over power the plot. Miles needs a wife, with extremely secretive reasons, and convinces Riley to marry him. Strictly a monetary gain on her part, but she's not a vindictive money grubber. She is trying to make it right for her family who is in dire straits. She risks herself to make others happy.

Miles has so many secrets that it was hard to keep up sometimes. They all come out but not until nearly the end. The one thing I didn't like about his secrets was his ex-fianc� Claire. Although she is level with her true feelings for Miles, not in a nasty way, I still wanted to slap her. I'm not sure I could deal with it the way that Riley did, because I would always wonder when Claire's back-stabbing ways would return. I don't think I would've had that much faith in my relationship with Miles. But Riley did. Which was great for the book

I liked this book a lot, but I didn't get or feel Miles' love for Riley at all. You could see hers , but I didn't get the mirrored reaction with him. Maybe because there were was so much drama and secrets it just overshadowed his love. Not sure. Hopefully you'll get more of that than I did. This series is well worth the read. I'm looking forward to reading more of this authors books.

This is the 2nd book in the 3 part series and needs to be read in order

Riley and Miles journey continues as life brings lemons but when one has lemons lemonade is always the next best thing to thrill ones pallet. The sensual yet confusing yet romantic and hidden sides of both characters compliment each other but will this couple find true love with many obstacles of the heart in the way of each?

Writing isn't good enough to make up for so many mistakes

I read all three books in a day, very short, quick read. I wouldn’t recommend this book or the series. The first book is probably the best, they just go downhill from there. One thing that bugs me about self-publishers is all the spelling and mainly grammatical errors. Higher an editor, or have a friend read over it, proof read. Example “…you and I is…”. There are enough errors throughout, it does become distracting. And the writing and story line aren’t good enough to overlook the errors.

About 15% of the second book is verbatim, literally copy & paste, of what happened in the first book, and a bit of recap of it too. The third book also has a literal copy & paste verbatim from the second book in it, and some recap from books one and two.

They live in Waco, TX, and drove twelve hours to Miami for a cruise, and writes she was fourteen thousand miles from home. I don’t think she meant fourteen thousand (14,000), she meant fourteen HUNDRED (1,400). Out of curiosity, I Googled the distance between Waco, TX and Madrid, Spain, which was the cruises destination, and that’s only 5,000 miles, so that wasn’t what she meant either, it was a simple mistake an editor would have caught.

There are numerous issues I have in books two and three that knock down the authors credibility, she continually shows a lack of professionalism by not researching, no continuity, and many noticeable errors. Again, perhaps hiring an editor would have helped catch them? Without any major spoilers, in the second book the heroine is questioned by a reporter about the Donaldson Family connection to her husband. Just forget that, because they are never mentioned again! Except in the third book they bring up the de Luca family, who I believe is supposed to be the Donaldson family. But it just feels like the author had no idea where the plot was going, and changed it after publishing the second book, she went in a different direction and needed to change the family’s last name to make it fit for that new direction. The author does this a few times, mentioning one thing in book one or two, and then changing it slightly in book two or three to fit. Maybe she thought her readers wouldn’t notice, I don’t know? In one of the books, one or two, she mentions she’s been on a plane two times, once to Florida for her honeymoon, and once back to Texas after. This is while they are flying to Massachusetts. In the third book she again mentions she’s been on a plane “Twice, actually. Once to Massachusetts, and once back to Texas.” But wouldn’t that be 4 times, maybe she just forgot her honeymoon, the author sure did!?! Another thing that knocks the authors credibility down is the mention of “State Senators” and “Federal Senators”, the term Federal Senator doesn’t actually exist. I think she meant a US Senator, or possibly a House of Representative, a congressman. But who knows at this point? It shows lack of knowledge, a bit of research would have helped, or again perhaps a paid editor would have caught this?

Also two minor things that bugged me, the author seems to think the only thing they serve at parties is quiche and champagne. The Gala and every large, glitzy party they attend, the heroine always and only mentions eating quiche. Get over the quiche, it’s a weird preoccupation. She also describes kissing the hero and tasting her “arousal (as) sweet and meaty on his tongue.” Really, meaty, he went down on you and you think your arousal tastes meaty? It’s not a steak, but ok.
